Waarom vrijwilligerswerk?

The Salvation Army has more than 70 local Christian chapters throughout the Netherlands.  Aside from Ecclesiastical Municipalities, these chapters are the first to offer social assistance which is
a very important function as well as characteristic of the Salvation Army.

The resulting activities are run under the guidance of experienced volunteers.
Volunteers have many functions and there are many reasons behind volunteering.

This can mean the following for you:

• a meaningful way to spend free time
• to be able to help others
• to help others from a religious standpoint
• a desire to change or improve something
• a desire to belong somewhere
• to be able to carry responsibilities
• to gain work experience

• a replacement to paid work
   

We are not able to undergo projects without volunteers.  The Hilversum Chapter attempts to place its volunteers in areas where he/she excels in thus assuming the strength of the volunteer.
